Wavy Corduroy | Pattern #1 | REST series | 175x50cm
INSPIRATION
REST season (winter) is one of nature’s deepest rhythms, quietly woven through every season and cycle. Throughout ecosystems, cycles of dormancy, renewal, and growth sustain balance and continuity.
In winter, leaves fall, seeds retreat into the soil, and the landscape grows quiet—a necessary pause that conserves energy and prepares life for future flourishing.
The pattern artworks in my REST series emerge from quiet patience—hours spent wandering, observing, gathering, drying, and gently preserving those fragile moments often overlooked and left to fade.
Each element is hand-preserved in resin through hundreds of hours of careful work, and no two resin pieces are ever the same. Brought together, they form a large scale pattern that carries something of my own life within it—a constellation of small, chosen details that, when assembled, reflect a fragment of who I am.
WAVY CORDUROY Pattern #1 captures a silent conversation between two plants in their time of REST, where seeds are revealed like nature’s jewellery, inviting a closer look at the small microcosms of beauty waiting to be noticed.
ELEMENTS
- Old Man’s Beard (Clematis vitalba)
Adds a wisdom of time and letting go, it's airy seeds speaking of transition, impermanence and trust in nature cycles.
- Small Teasel (Dipsacus pilosus)
With it's spiky presence, brings a sense of gentle protection and inner strength - guarded hope that endures the cold.
This work embodies the delicate dance between release and resilience.
More than a visual experience, this pattern serves as a meditation on transformation and endurance.
Each preserved element carries a silent promise and a unique presence.
A bridge between past and future, this piece captures nature’s delicate poetry—quiet, patient, and full of serene beauty found in fleeting moments.
